The Managing Consultant reports to the President and is primarily responsible for business development and guiding the efforts of the consulting team.


The Managing Consultant reports to the President and is primarily responsible for business development and guiding the efforts of the consulting team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to past and existing clients
  • Preparing and delivering agreements and statements of work
  • Recruiting and training consulting team members
  • Overseeing the delivery of professional services to clients
  • Developing and delivering performance and compensation evaluations
  • Handling administrative and human resources tasks as required

In addition, the Managing Consultant is responsible for providing consulting services to a variety of clients with varied requirements. This includes providing training and consulting services to clients remotely and on-site. This position is responsible for overseeing the provision of and providing the best possible client services, including but not limited to:

  • Assessing client requirements
  • Gathering and documenting related client policies and practices
  • Identifying client issues and opportunities
  • Developing solutions that appropriately address identified issues and opportunities
  • Delivering required consulting and training services
  • Engaging other team members to add their knowledge and expertise to deliver complete solutions
  • Developing and delivering functional and technical specification documents
  • Client project management

Essential Functions

  • Accurately assess client requirements
  • Develop and deliver functional specifications
  • Develop and deliver technical specifications
  • Guide delivery of services for client implementations of ERP applications
  • Guide delivery of services for migrations from existing client applications to new ones
  • Guide delivery of services for ongoing support / troubleshooting as needed
  • Guide delivery of consulting services with an emphasis on problem solving
  • Guide delivery of services for training on logistics, manufacturing, and financial modules
  • Guide delivery of services for training on other modules as needed
  • Guide delivery of services for client system administration as needed
  • Guide the generation of revenue by managing billable rate and utilization rate
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Coordinate activities of the team, as required, to improve the organization’s overall profitability
  • Prepare and deliver agreements and statements of work as required
  • Recruit and train consulting personnel
  • Practice and promote knowledge management within the organization
  • Practice and promote continuous learning within the organization
  • Facilitate process improvement within the organization
  • Ensure management is kept aware of projects’ status via periodic updates
  • Ensure protection and security of files and records

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA preferred
  • 5 to 7 years’ functional ERP consulting experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ project management experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ supervisory or managerial experience
  • Prior experience in enforcing Human Resources policies and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications
  • Logistics knowledge
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • Financial and accounting knowledge
  • Technical systems administration knowledge
  • Previous business development experience
